Hi my name is Lynne and I have  been diagnosed with breast cancer......I am going to Dana Farber , in Boston, to be treated.   I am 63 years old , eat great, exercised everyday of my life and here I am.........this is after 2 open heart surgery's to replace valves that leaked and had a ablation on my heart........Sooo...... I am now on coumadin for my steel valves...I am very scared, but I have to do this as all you ladies had to too.......I will be reading all the posts here just to see how you all did.........My operation is Aug. 18......I was going to go for a lumptectomy , but I have made up my mind I am going to have the whole breast removed......and hopefully I do not need radiation........My mom had breast cancer so lucky me I inherited it from her......:)    Well thank you all for just sharing all you have gone through and I am sure I will learn a lot from all of you.........lynne

Hi lynrose,  Nice to meet you.  Just here to say hello.  I know what a hard thing it is to hear you have breast cancer.  I find just talking to others like this helps.  I'm 61 years old; we're about the same. I went for mastectomy, too.  If you are at Dana Farber I'm sure you're getting the best possible treatment. I'll be thinking of you on surgery day.  Hugs. G.

Hi lynrose,  Just popping back in to wish you the very best on the surgery.  Looks like you may be going in on Monday, so I didn't want to miss the opportunity to let you know you are in my thoughts.  Will be waiting to hear how you are doing.  G.

Hi lynrose, love the name.  Your surgery is coming up fast.  Will be praying for you.  Hang in there you can do it.  I did mastectomy and chemo and chose not to do rads (saved it in case of emergency)  and am over 5 years out and doing good.  It is a tough journey but a doable one.  God bless.

Hi lynrose,  Your surgery was the 18th and I'm sure you are still recovering.  I'm just here to say I hope everything went O.K., that you're getting stronger every day, and will be able to come home soon.  Hugs, G.

I am home, finally after 10 days in the hospital.....thank you all for your welcome....I had a lumpectomy with 2 nodes positive.....right after surgery about 10 hours later I was rushed back into surgery, for the medicine I am on (Coumadin) made my operation on my nodes swell up to such horrible pain........I had a drain put in.....just got it out this week.....I will now start treatment in about a week......wow I love the Golden years:))))))))   But I still am so grateful that I am still here, so I should not complain.....thank you all for acknowledging me.....I hope you are all well.......Lynne
