Zometa and Dental Work

My mom finished her chemo AC+T in April - her doctor prescribed Zometa (every 6 months) as a preventative measure since she will be taking Arimidex. She had her 1st Zometa infusion in May 2009.

She just went to a dentist and he said she needs cleaning, crowns, feelings, and one extraction. I have heard about the risk of ONJ related to Zometa.

Can you please share information regarding this??? Should she have any work done (specially extraction) ???? What are the risks???  Does it matter that she only had one zometa infusion so far so she is at little less risk???

Any advice, help, information is appreciated please. THANK YOU.

Have ALL the work completed b4 starting the Zometa. I don't think 1 infusion would cause much harm. Best to talk with her dentist.
