Had Kidney Surg

As most of you know a kidney tumor was found when I had all my scans, tests for the breast cancer I was diagnosed with on May 22.

I had the tumor laproscopically removed on Thursday and they were able to remove the tumor ONLY and NOT TOUCH MY KIDNEY!!!!!   They thought they may have to take my kidney but thank God they didn't.   I am at home recovering.

I have a question for anyone who has had their gallbladder out or any kind of surgery that cuts into the muscles in your stomach.   I've had my gallbladder out and I remember how much it hurt to move and could only get up using my right, arm, etc.   Same applies here.   When I left the hospital on Saturday I was very swollen with fluid.   My hands looked like the Michelin man's.....seriously!    lol

I just noticed yesterday that I have a swollen place right above my collarbone on the right side (the side I have to use to move, get around, anything).   I'm trying not to freak out about it but ya'll know how that goes.  My neck is not swollen and I know you have lymph nodes there.    I think I've probably strained that muscle from it being my only means of getting around and that some of the fluid just hasn't drained off.

I guess I'm looking for a little reassurance that it's probably nothing.   I came home from the hospital with a drain and am going back to the Dr tomorrow to have the drain removed (hopefully) but I don't want to fret about this swollen place above my collar bone.   That's why I'm asking if this is normal for someone who has just had surgery.

It could also be caused by how they had to turn me on my left side before they could do the procedure and God bless whoever had the horrid job of trying to turn me on my side.   lol

Anyway, can you give me your thoughts.......experiences........something to reassure me?    I know the swelling wasn't there before my surgery and now this AFTER surgery........I'm pretty sure they are related but I'm just trying to get my mind to NOT go where it seems to be going.

The slightly swollen spot feels like there is fluid underneath and isnt' hard......it could also be my body's way of dealing with the pretty major surgery anyway.   Just need some thoughts.
