I was negative on BRCA test and I am HER2+ and Estrogen Positive!!

I am going to have testing but am very nervous.  I had herceptin/taxol prior to surgery (12 doses) and have continued 2 weeks after surgery (which will go for a year).  I have complete response on path report (negative for cancer in both breasts and 9 lymph nodes).  I also had a PET scan which confirmed this -- 2 lesions in my back (so small they can not be biopsied -- may or may not be there prior to diagnosis since I did not have base line MRI on my back only on my breast.  Good luck in this scary world.

Swim-just noticed your question-sorry!

What DID happen was that I went from er-at primary, to er+ at secondary diagnosis-now that was a big surprise!But apparently, it's not as uncommon as you may think, and on secondary diagnosis, receptor status is often quite different to the original. The HER status was/is defintely correct. But it seems that in my case, it is only effective when taken in conjunction with a chemo.

Did the tests, and tested negative for both tests.

I had my BRCA test and it is negative.  Even if the results are negative my oncologist stated he can get approval for me if I want to have a double mastectomy and hysterectomy due to those parts having problems due to treatment and due to non-cancer related issues.  My tumor marker is testing high (60) and it was repeated and it is still climbing (66).  I am at the same time having a hemmoragic period that has gone on since July 28th as one would have in the 10 days after childbirth passing clots etc....

Has anyone had their tumor marker jump like this due to endometriosis or other menstrual issues?
