Recurrence on good breast

Options

I want to know if anybody had a recurrence on good breast a year or 2 years after having MRI.

Since my lobular cancer was never detected by mammo, I might insist on MRI on good breast to catch any LCI .

Thanks

Absolutely insist on an MRI on the good side.

I have an annual bilateral MRI in addition to my mammos. My last MRI in March, a year after finishing chemo/rads, showed something on the good side that had to be biopsied--ended up being benign, but I'd rather be safe than sorry. My ILC was missed on mammo as well, and my breasts are very dense (slightly less so now that I'm on Tamoxifen, but still my mammos are hard to read).

Thank you for sharing. How do you get the insurance and doctor to go for an MRI? I'm having a diagnostic mammogram in my good breast in two weeks. It's only been a year from chemo and radiation. I'm on Tamoxifen and can't imagine it recurring so soon. My breast are also dense. Any info would be appreciated. Thank you, Jamie
