100% Estrogen Receptive
Anyone else 100% Estrogen Receptive? My pathology report shows my tumors were 100% Estrogen Receptive and 37% Progesterone Receptive. HER2 Negative. I am 31 years old and have heard estrogen is tough to control in young women. Is this true? Are there any questions regarding treatment options I should be discussing with my Oncologist?
On our first meeting he said I would be taking Tamoxifen for 5 years. We are waiting on Oncotype DX results to talk about chemo. We expect the score to be low. Should tamoxifen be enough to control my estrogen or should I be considering other treatment options as well?
Thanks in advance for your help.

I'm 100% estrogen receptive too. I have just had an ooph (Ovary removal) which will allow me to take an AI rather than Tamoxifen. You are younger, with a much earlier stage than me, so tamox may do the trick. They can chemically supress your Ovaries with Lupron as well.

I am 100% estrogen / 98% progesterone receptive, HER2-. I've been in surgical menopause since 1997, when I had my remaining ovary out due to a recurrence of endometriosis and ovarian cysts after a hyst./1 ovary out in 1991 (I had an obvious over-abundance of estrogen producing - it was bubbling over). I am 46. Technically I am a candidate for an AI, but am struggling to find one with se's that i can live with. Femara hasn't worked. Waiting to hear what my next choice will be.

I'm 100% estrogen positive and 99% progesterone positive. I'm 35. My dr. said off the record that the more positive you are, the easier it is to treat. My oncotype score was 7, so I didn't have to have chemo. Tamoxifen and Lupron are my big guns. Good luck.

I am 100% estrogen positive. Had an Oncotype of 11. No chemo but bilat mast and Arimidex.

Thanks for responding ladies. Hoping my Oncotype score is low and all I need is Tamoxifen. I will definitely ask my onc about Lupron though to see what he says. Thanks everyone!

I'm close at 98% ER + and 64% PR +. My Oncotype score was 13 and my Oncologist and I decided that chemo wasn't beneficial.

As you can see from my signature 100%ER/PR, didn't do chemo, but did BLM, and ooph, wanted to stay on Tamoxifen, so had a hyster, too. I avoid soy products, but don't get to overwhelmed with looking for things to avoid. I check in with a nutritionist once in a while, and work towards keeping my weight down. I hope your Oncotype comes back low!
Best,
Karen
