Mom diagnosed IDC and terrified

My mom was recently diagnosed with IDC after her yearly mammogram found an abnormality.  This was cancer and an MRI concluded a smaller tumor had formed as well.  The original tumor was less than 2 cm and the second one was .5 cm.  She had a masectomy and did have nine lymph nodes positive for cancer and now I'm terrified to learn the results of her impending scans.  The news seems to be getting worse and worse.  Can she even be stage 2 with that many nodes?  Scared and tired of waiting...

I am not informed enough to answer your question but just wanted to say how lucky your mom is to have you as her advocate.  I am 4 1/2 months post diagnosis and want to say, for me, time has made it is easier to handle everything.  This forum is so filled with information and compassion that it is invaluable for getting educated.  Reading about the strong women who are fighting the good fight inspires me.  You are a blessing to your mom.  Hugs and love.
