Is Milk Thistle OK if Estrogen +?

Hello Ladies!

I can't seem to find a good solid answer on the Internet, so I thought I would check with the ladies of this forum to see if you have any information for me. A few years ago, I lost a lot (about 170lbs!) of weight. That kind of weight loss sometimes taxes the liver a bit, and my liver enzymes are mildly elevated. So, last winter I started an herbal "liver cleanse" preparation that contains Milk Thistle.

In addition to all of the positive effects of Milk Thistle on the liver, I've read that it may be beneficial in inhibiting the growth of breast cancer cells. But, I've also seen mention that it should be avoided in breast cancer patients as it may have a hormone effect. Anybody know more about it?

My Naturopathic Doctor, who works in an oncology hospital, took me off of red clover, but I take milk thistle with her blessings.  Hope that helps.
