    I am a a Triple Negative 1 Year Survivor with a Triple Neg friend just diagnosed with BC recurrence of Plural Effusion. ANYONE HAVE ANY INFO ON THIS or being treated for the same disease???

    I just got home from having a pleural effusion drained today.  My first.  I'd been complaining of shortness of breath for a month, and when I had my regular followup ct in late May it showed a PE but said it was too small to drain.  It's been getting worse, and I finally emailed the onc nurse on the weekend, she set up a CT for yesterday.  This morning she called first thing, and said, you need to come down and get this drained, it's really big.  So, I spent the day with ultrasound, then they drained it (2.3 liters) had xray, and I'm scheduled for surgery next week to do the stick it back together thing.  The draining was a piece of cake, only thing that hurt was the numbing injection.  I couldn't believe how much fluid, though, and what a difference it makes to how I can breathe.  I'm not looking forward to having surgery next week and staying in the hospital, but what are you gonna do?
