I challenge YOU!! Yes You:)
Ladies,
I can't even tell you how much this board has meant to me over the past few weeks as I am a relatively new BC diagnosee (may 21, 2009). When I first started looking for resources and stats on BC (on other web sites) all I found were depressing five year survival rates, tumor markers and staging, grading etc. Not that those things aren't important but what I really found HERE were real women like me that faced this demon square in the face and kicked BUTT! Not only were they warriors but they are and were gentle souls that offered me console and REAL words of encouragment. They meant more than anything because these brave girls had battled the front lines and they were telling me that I too could win. SO now to my CHALLENGE...........YEAH! I challenge every woman on this board to post at least one reply at least once a week to another sister's thread, topic etc. I challenge you to start a blog and share your story. I challenege you to give this web address to every BC sister that you come in contact with. I challenge you to help me in making sure that no BC sis ever feels alone. I challenge you to print up cards in pink with this web address and give it to your, radiologist, onc, breast surgeon, and tell them that that this is a community of hope that is always looking to share it's resources. Why because I really don't know what I would have done if I had not found this resource, so I can only imagine a sister posting something and getting no feedback. Even if we don't want to post a reply start a thread, topic(I am not too tech tech savvy, so excuse my faux pas)simply telling us how you are doing, something funny you heard something that pissed you off ( I am compiling my list to add the dumb things people say thread). There are women's lives that depend on it. I know this because I am one of them. I heard so many horror stories being a young BC patient, African American, large tumor. Yet when I told my story here no one flinched. I had sisters bearing there war scars and still LIVING! I read this board nightly b4 bed just to cruise and talk to others. it helps me sleep knowing that another woman in my situation survived and THRIVED! SO with that said,I don't want anyone to read this and walk away feeling like I am being judgemental, harsh or bossy that would totally undermine my gratitude, my intention is to simply do my part in making sure that no woman ever faces this alone. Thank you ladies so much for all of your wisdom and love. I know even pre-chemo. mx and rads that I am already a 50 year survivor!!!! To God be the glory for all of you fearfully created sisters in the sisterhood that noone chooses but where we CHOOSE to bond through love and not fear.

SuthernDiva- Here! Here! I agree with the posters above-Very well said. Can't even begin to say what a resource and support this site has been to me. Discussed this with my onc-and she said less than 5% of her BC pts even look to this resource-that those 5% are the most motivated and proactive group of women she knows. Met another woman in chemo who was told by the nurses not to look things up on the internet 'cause she was getting anxious and getting some ?'able info. I, of course, referred her to this site.......
Will take you up on the challenge! So many benefits to reap for all of us-comraderie, education, a place to vent, support, prayers, straight talk, laughter, and encouragement. Off to church...as a part of this group you're already on our prayer list.
God Bless and Beat Cancer!

Amen Amen! This website and the beautiful people here have helped me so much in my surgery decisions, recovery, keeping my sanity during chemo, etc etc. I met so many friends here.
Thank you, diva, for posting this challenge!
To God be the Glory!!!
