my name is reese.like the candy not the actress. i am new to this forum and i need a bit of advice. i do not have breast cancer as it stands at thi smoment but am awaiting a diagnosis. i have breast cancer in the family. my mother had it at age 18. she had a lumpectomy and has been cancer free ever since. I have a hx of blood clots, Deep vein thrombosis. have survived 3 pulmonary embolisms. and as a result of the bloodclots had to have a complete hysterectomy at age 22. i am not on hormones. but since october i noticed a pea sized lump in my left armpit. in february i went to the dr. who said it was just swollen lymph node. went to a different dr. in april which by this time the pea sized lump was bigger ..felt like it was underneath the pectoral muscle. doc sent me to a surgeon who says he didnt feel anything there..sends me to have an MRI of the armpit. MRI is negative. but now this mass is worse ..its now making the top part of my pectoral muscle feel stiff like a stick to your ribs kind of feeling and my left breast area is numb even the nipple 80% of the time. shoudl i go to another dr? please give me some advice ..any will do ..thank you ..oh yeah i'm only 29 too.  Reese

Reece So sorry you are going thru this great big hugs and yes you need another opinion.....Especially with your family history.....Have you told these doctors your history?...........You really should go to a Breast Specialist if you haven't already........They specialize in nothing but breast issues.......Good luck and please keep us posted.......

Reese, sorry to hear of your continuing worries for someone so young.  (((Hugs))).  I would certainly try another specialist - there is definitely something there if you felt it and they should be able to tell you what it is or at least investigate it further.  Many women have written about "a feeling" they have so never underestimate your own instinct.  I'm not saying it is something to be concerned about but you need to find out what you are dealing with.  Don't be afraid to seek another opinion, this is your health and your life, it is important.

Please let us know how you get on.  Thinking of you.

    soft hugs

so i went to the dr. today and he explained my MRI to me..they found a small adenoma in the left axilla. but he thinks there is also a nuloma? on my fourth rib or from my spine? that could be causing the numbness and loss os sensation to the left chest and breast area. i mean he poked and prodded there and i had absolutely no feeling or sensation of being touched. i am being sent for another MRI to scan the ribs and spine and possibly a neurologist too and the spine clinic. i will keep you all updated and thank you again for the unconditional support. bless each and everyone of you . you gave me the strength to trust in what i felt and the courage to stand up for it and ask for another test. hugs from me to you ..Reese

Reese - well an adenoma isn't ideal but it is benign thank god.  Not quite sure about a nuloma, did a search and it certainly didn't help much.  I'm so glad you are following this up Reese as scary as it must be.  I hope you are getting lots of love and support there, you have mine.  Let us know about your follow up MRI which I hope is soon.  I noticed you posted this on your thread, perhaps someone may know what a nuloma means.

thinking of you and glad you are being looked after by your medical team.

    big hugs

    Helena
