Helen So glad your done with treatments. Just be patient with the hair.Mine doesn't seem to grow like it did before.Everything in our lives seems to slow right down after treatments. The hair you saw me with was over 9months of growth and thats all I have.I have been trying to loose weight before my late sept surgery but not having much luck either.Try to get in some exercise at least evry second day it will help with your energy level. If we lived closer I would drag you along with me.Let us know how you are doing on the Arimidex.I am on Tamox for 5 years but he may switch me after a few years. Take care of yourself.((((Hugs))))

Mumayan, I think I check the hair growth 6 times a day looking for a new strand. I keep thinking that because this is the second time I've been through this, the hair is taking that as a message to stay asleep...... it does seem to be slower this time. It does help to have company when exercising - I agree. I'm also quite frustrated by the lack of weight loss. It might be the Arimidex that is making it more difficult - I don't know but it's hard to stay motivated when there's no progress. I'm still having lots of ups and downs but am grateful that the active treatment is over. Dealing with this a second time has been overwhelming for me and there have been several huge losses this time as well and life will never be the same on many levels. .....I thought your hair looked adorable.....I suspect it will take me about 9 months to get to that stage as well and I think I'll probably keep it short as well this time. Thanks for the hugs ... Helen

I, too, thought your hair looked cute Mumayan. Very young and savvy.

I think the weight loss is due to our age as well ladies. Come on, fess up. Who else was born in the 1950's? I can't lose weight and I'm not on ANYTHING.....sigh.

Sunnybrook is hosting a series of lectures related to cancer in September. They are being held in the theatre at Edwards Gardens (Leslie & Lawrence). The first one is about diet and lifestyle, the second one on Sept. 23 is a panel of oncologists who will talk about recent research. It's open to everyone, no charge, no registration required ... just need to get there early enough to get a seat.

    helen,

You might be right about the Leslie/York Mills starbucks.. Let me drive by it and so I can get the address rigth!  There might be something on Lawrence that is a bit closer, too

Looks like Sherry35 and Dreamwriter want to joing for a prelecture coffee.

For those that missed it, we are planning on getting together Sept 16 6pm somewhere near Edwards Garden where the lecture is being held.  See hrf post above for info on the lecture.

Jacquie, I'm also thinking there may be somewhere closer to Edwards Gardens so we don't have to go north to York Mills and then drive south to Lawrence. Great if you can drive by to get an address. If I'm in the area, I'll also check. I'm looking forward to seeing everyone who can join us for coffee and the lecture.

40 - 50?!  I need to lose more than that! - but then I can't blame chemo for it as I am actually down a bit. I was so hoping that if I had to go through this nonsense that at least it would make me lose weight. Is there no justice?!

Glad everyone sounds like they are doing well.

Barbe, glad to hear you in the mix too.  Hope that means you are feeling better.  You look lovely in the photo.

Wish I could join for the lecture series and coffee.  Both sound great.

    Back to work, take care!

Who all is going to this lecture:  I am figuring on ride to Starbucks at 4001 Leslie Street for 5:30 because Wheel Trans will then get me there by 6.  I will follow anyone who knows where they are going but I am going to have to return to Starbucks to be picked up (It is easier that way) at 9:30 (does that sound right to you??????).  Please tell me that Edwards Gardens is wheelchair accessible, though I am flexible.... I am willing to park the scooter and walk a few feet.  All in all... I will be there on the 16th.  Barbe.... if you come.... I will kiss you in public.

I think the Starbucks at 4001 Leslie must be inside North York General Hospital ..... it is not accessible from the street and would require payment for parking. We are looking for a location closer to Edwards Gardens. I'm coming from south so I don't want to drive all the way up to Sheppard for the lecture that is at Lawrence. We still have a couple of weeks to work out details. Stay posted. However, if that location is good for some of you, please go ahead and I can meet you at the lecture.

I really need to know the location of where we are meeting so I can book my ride (WheelTrans).  Please please decide.  The Starbucks is ok, good parking lot and I can scooter from there to where we are going.... hopefully after someone points me in the right direction.  Or if someone wants to park at Starbucks and walk with me, the company would be appreciated.  I need to know by 7:00 am Sept 15.

Thisisme..... do you know how to get to your private messages.  I just wondered cause Ive sent you a couple.   If you roll up to the top and roll over private messages there will be a pink number.  That is the number of messages you have not read.  If there is no number, no messages.  It is not really that easy to see, so you have to check it.  I got several messages before I got a paragraph like this one. LOL.

This is the only lecture I will be able to attend so I am happy to hear that there is a crowd of us coming.  How will we know each other.....?  I have a big red scooter which I will park outside.

Could we each make a little sign and first one there grabs a big table.  Put the sign in the middle.  Reserved = BCO Chatters.  SInce  WheelTrans is likely to drop me off early, I will most likely be the one with the sign.... TEEEHEEE

Hi Dreamwriter.....I am also planning on attending the lecture but am unsure of a meeting location ahead of time. I might just go straight to the lecture depending on the timing and location. I will look for you.

I also think that the Starbucks on Leslie is in the hospital.  there is a starbucks at Don Mills and Lawrence, in the "shops at Don Mills' plaza. It is close to Edwards Garden.  Do we want to meet there at 6pm? 1090 Don Mills Road.

(Sorry for no reply Dreamwriter but between holidays and back to school, I have been too busy to think about BC!!!)

I have to check the family calendar for Sept 20 but love the idea.  Kerry, are you bringing your kids?  I think ours are similar ages ( I have 3 boys- nearly11, nealry 6 and 3.5)
