MTV's "True Life" wants to hear your breast cancer story!
Hello members!
My name is Jennifer and I am a producer of MTV's long-running award-winning documentary series "True Life," which focuses on specific topics that pertain to teens and twenty-somethings. The episode we are casting now is called "True Life: I'm Having Major Surgery," and we're interested in speaking to young people who are facing non-elective surgeries, especially cancer-related.
We're looking for 18-30 year olds specifically, but we can be flexible. We're also willing to travel anywhere! If you are interested in sharing your story, please feel free to email me at casting@crosstown.tv with a description of your story and a photo of yourself. And by all means, please feel free to forward this message to any other patients you know!
Thank you so much, and I hope to hear from you soon!

Thank you CS! We're really looking forward to providing a place where young patients can share their stories. Please feel free to let me know if you're aware of other outlets where I can post this casting information - we would love to hear as many stories as possible! Best of luck to you and take care ;-)

I'm too "old" for you.....you may find some young patients here...but you'll likely have better luck at young survival. I don't know if i can put a link here, so just to to young survival dot org. kwim?

Thank you, Lisa! Funnily enough, I actually just reposted on Young Survival at the suggestion of Beth. Smart minds think alike!
You all have a wonderful community here. Everyone is so warm!

I would love to participate but I was 35 at diagnosis three years ago. I'd suggest that you contact someone at Komen National. They have a data base of active survivors and might can help!

Thank you all so much again for your support! I've received a lot of submissions and everyone's stories are amazing. I'll try to stop back here and let you know when the episode of "True Life" will be airing (should probably be around in December).
We are still accepting applications for the next couple of weeks, so if you or anyone you know is interested, please feel free to reach out to me at casting@crosstown.tv.
;-)
