Hello, can anyone describe their back pain caused by Herceptin?  My onc says my back pain is not from herceptin but it's been going on for over 4 months.  My bone scan came back good but just trying to figure out why I'm having back pain.

Mine is like a painful cramp in the right under my shoulder blades that runs across my back and sometimes up my neck.  It comes and goes, but i take vicodin for it.  I went jetsking last weekend, you would think that would make it worse, but i had no pain all weekend  - go figure!  Herceptin has many unknown side effects.  I had a full body xray done and nothing showed up.  Hope this helps,

    Laura

I have shooting pains in random spots in my back BUT at this time it's being blamed on taxotere.  My oncologist says herceptin isn't causing it and I had a clean bone scan and multiple clean CT scans.  I hope it's the taxotere but I am wondering each day if the H doesn't have any part in it.

It makes me mad when onc's deny pain from herceptin. My onc said the same thing.

Genentech's Herceptin side effects list muscle pain as a COMMON side effect.

I had lots of hip/low back pain while I was on herceptin.

Sorry, I never had any back pain. My worse complaint on herceptin was a runny nose.

I have horrible back pain on the left side, next to my shoulder blade.  But I have had it prior to chemo, and I do have mets to the vertebrae.  But the pain, I have felt is not in the area of the mets.  I am also on Taxotere and herceptin.

For me it's muscular, or like a squeezed nerve. Hurts if I turn or move the head a certain way. Seems to hurt around the shoulder blade, not the spine itself. Joint pain is one of the listed side-effects for herceptin in the pharmacology paperwork they gave me.

My back pain is lower back and all but stopped after we slowed the infusion down to an hour rather than 30 minutes. I can tell the difference without looking at the pump to see what it is set on if they have not set it correct. Now when I’m seated I remind theRN how fast my infusions run and what length needle they like the best for my port.
