This is the reply I recieved re my query about photdynamic treatment.

'The treatment was photodynamic therapy applied as a topical cream, it worked as well as the chemo without side effects ,for a while. This was proven by biopsies. It was undertaken at Harrogate, Cancer Backup has some info on it;

www.cancerbackup.org.uk/Treatmen...mictherapy

There is (or was last year) a trial for intravenous phototdynamic therapy under a Mr Mohammed Keshtgar, breast specialist, at The National Laser Medical Centre at UCL. Apparently they had an article on this man and the treatment in a Breast Cancer Care magazine recently. I have asked to be put on their mailing list, but if you call them they may be able to send you a copy of the article. I did have a quick look and did a search on their website , but couldn't find anything.

I found this link under UCL ; www.ucl.ac.uk/surgery/nmlc/research.htm

It doesn't specify breast cancer, but Mr Keshtgar was willing to take a breast cancer patient on the trial. From what I understand Mr Keshtgar is using it as a last resort for skin mets or cancers with a certain depth to them and still considered targeted chemo might be more appropriate.'

Not sure if the web pages will cross over the oceans to you, but I hope the info is useful!

It does seem to answer my own query as to why it hasn't been mentioned to me, I guess I have a few more treatment options still on the shelf as yet.
