My Mother's Treatment

I am the youngest of 5 and my 83 year mother had her left breast removed in March of 2009. Lump was 3 cm, invasive and hormone positive. Actually there was 2, the other was DCIS. Surgeon said margins were clean and lymph nodes negative. She came through surgery great. The doctors want her to take Tamoxifen or Armidex. Her medical history consists of High Blood Pressure and High Cholesterol. She already has joint pain. She really does not want to take any of it because of the side effects and risks. I have one brother and sister-in-law in the medical field and they do not think it is a good idea for her to take these drugs. I don't either. I have one sister who is 10 year survivor and she thinks she should take something. I am wondering if there are women out there in her age range that are on either of these drugs and what effects they are having.

Thanks
