I am 30 years old, and I was diagnosed with breast cancer mid-May. Since my diagnosis, I have not had a period. I am wondering if this could be stress or hormone related, as I am definitely not pregnant. I am thinking that the stress may be putting me into menopause or something like that. I know that I need to address it with my doctors, but I'm not sure which one I should talk to (have so many at this point). Has this happened to anyone else? If so, what were you told?

Thanks a bunch!!

Hey rachel,  Have you started chemo? or are you on tamoxifen?  I was dx in 2007, had 6 cycles of chemo and on the 3rd cycle my period stopped for 18 months and re-appeared April 09 (only very lightly).  If you've had any chemo that'll probably knock your periods about as will tamoxifen. Although if you've not had either of these then I'm guessing that the stress or any surgery you may have had could also knock your system out of sync.

I know it's not easy at the minute but try to take a deep breath, I can't imagine that stress would put you into menopause.  If you were dx in mid-may, it's now mid-june, this is still an extremely stressful time for you.  I reckon if you mention this to any medically trained person they will probably tell you it's stress related if you've not already started chemo.

Let me know how your getting on and if you need to PM me please do.
