Once chemo is started how long can it be delayed?

My question is once chemo has started, how long can a treatment be delayed. Is there a point in time that you would have to add more chemo to make up for missed treatment?  Lets say it treatment 4 of 4 being  delayed, at this time being delayed only a week but there is no guarantee that I will receive it next week. I know this is a question for the Drs. but I will not see them till next week. I was just wondering if anyone had had a delay of more than a week.

My second AC was done 4 weeks after the first (on a two week schedule) due to my febrile neutropenia.  My third and last were back on the 2 week schedule.  Hope this helps.
