My Mother has breast cancer

Hi, I'm new to all of this and don't really know how it all works yet. My Mother was diagnosed with breast cancer yesterday and even though her doctor said that they think it was caught very early, I am worried because 3 of our other relatives on her side of the family have already faught breast and colon cancer and lymphoma (her mother, sister, and niece- all three of which had breast cancer) I'm not sure whether my sister and I should be tested for the BRCA 1&2 genes, or how high our risk has become by our mother's diagnosis. If anyone can share their experiences I would appreciate it. Thankyou
