    (copied from the other thread)

I just got off the phone with Saint.

Several lovely things to report. They had a very nice, simple Christmas. Her local sister cooked up a storm worthy of the food channel.

They were even able to host their traditional Christmas Eve open house that is primarily for members of their church choir -- for between the many services. (Remember, they live right across the street from the church.) It's a tradition that they've carried on every year -- even when  her leg broke & she had that major surgery/rod and was still recovering. She told me how everyone just made themselves at home and did all the work.... and she got to visit with everyone.

So she was able to participate in much of this year's festivities.

    Now. The tough report.

She has had an increasing head ache over the last several days -- starting nearly a week ago. It is increasing it intensity and symptoms increasing.

She is debating at this very minute whether to go to the emergency room, and ask for a scan -- or wait until tomorrow to go.

She actually admitted that she's worn down by yet one more bizaare set of symptoms.

I know that she is soooooo grateful for everyone's support & prayers.

Her oncologist has asked her to "Hang in there." We laughed about the technicality of such advice.

More prayers, more candle-lighting, more light being sent, more holding her closely in your heart.

LuAnn. She spoke so highly of your recent conversation. I know that you have been such a light to her in your reaching out. Prayers to you, too.

Pat. Early in the fall when you were going thru the increasing blood transfusions and I felt so completely helpless, I went to "our" beach across from Wilson's Ice Cream Parlor and sat for a long time and said prayers for you, sitting there on the sand.

I couldn't think of anything the least bit 'profound' to write..... so I just grabbed a stick and wrote the first thing that came to my mind.

This is what I came up with:

I never posted it, because at the time it felt like an awful lame sentiment. Now, that I hear that it's the advice from your medical team, I feel that it's OK to post it.

Seriously. I just found the picture on my DH's computer, cuz mine was on-the-fritz at the time. I couldn't make this stuff up, by the way. Maybe the angels have more of a sense of humor than we realize?? I know that you'd be laughing-out-loud, if you could get on the computer -- even thru your head throbbing.

    Strength and courage.

    Strength and courage.

    Strength and courage.

Saint,  I am praying for you and imagining healing white light surrounding you.

    As Faith says,

    "Strength and Courage"

    (Strong) and (Brave)!!!

I am imagining that the healing white light is massaging your forehead and absorbing the pain from the head ache until the headache is gone.

As Faith and your Onc say, "HANG IN THERE!!!!

    hugs, celia

I've just gotten off the phone with Saint.

I can't cut & paste on this computer.....

(I'm at DD's house & she's taking her hubby to the base to deploy to Iraq later today)

This is a very gray day in my world.

Saint went to the ER last night for these headaches that continue, without relenting or being 'touched' by the pain meds she has. The scan was inconclusive & she is awaiting a call from her doc for insight.

She is completely exhausted. Emotionally drained. She was too exhausted to speak on the phone. So we cried briefly together.

I promised that I would rouse another round of prayers on her behalf. She thinks that is the only thing that has kept her going up to this point.

She has no more resillience -- in the face of all that these last months have brought.

Their 30th wedding anniversary is Thurs. I don't think she's able to think of that today.

She is in an incredible amount of pain. In every department.

Please continue to pray -- or add your own ways to uplift her, as she is in a very low place at the moment.

    Strength and courage.

    Strength and courage.

    Strength and courage.

Okay, I'm putting my eggs back into the miracle basket again.  I had taken them out a couple weeks ago and forgot to put them back in :)   Saint, more and stronger prayers coming your way darlin.  Faith, you're a close second for the pain I know your family has to be feeling today too.  I hope that at times your pride and Sarah's pride shine through your tears.  Hugs to you, and gentle massaging healing hugs for Saint.

Dear Faith, you too are in my thoughts and prayers as this too is so hard for you. Having your son-in law going to Iraq must be so hard for your DD and you and the rest of the family. Take care Faith.

Thank you for the outpouring of support, my sisters.

I called Saint just a little moment ago, in the hopes of an update. She didn't answer her phone nor call back. I just remembered that her DD, Cinderella is set to have her wisdom teeth removed tomorrow. Keep the WHOLE family in your prayers.

And a special word of gratitude for your extending your prayers to include me and mine.

    A new day for prayers.

A new day for rejoicing in life.

A new day for petitions requesting mercy & compassion.

Please Heavenly Father break the cycle of pain that has taken hold of our dear friend. Hold her up thru these bleak days. Grant her soul & spirit the strength it needs to help her body rebound from the unrelenting list of symptoms and side effects.

Give Saint some peace. Allow her to realize how she has  been a friend and role model in the midst of her journey.

Your timing is divine. I am a toddler at understanding it, but I trust your great goodness & love to know when this mortal battle that our friend is fighting, will come to an end. I pray that Pat & Greg are able to celebrate their 30th wedding anniversary together, with some quality time.

Is it toooo much to ask that she rebound again, and can attend Cinderella in the spring? That would be my wish upon a star.

I resigned as general contractor of the universe, so I will entrust these details into your loving capable heart.

Our wish is for time. Quality time. Ample quality time. You know our heart's desires for our friend. You know her desires as well. We ask for the miracle to have a double over-time.

    xx00xx00xx00xx

    Strength and courage.

    Strength and courage.

    Strength and courage.
