No prognostic markers yet?

I have my first meeting with an oncologist today. I received a fax of my pathology report yesterday, but a phone call this morning to the lab confirms that they haven't run the prognostic markers yet. Everything I'm reading on the net suggests that the prognostic markers are pretty important to selecting the type of treatment. I'm wondering how this is going to work if that info is not available?
