White blood cell count

I was diagnosed with stage II breast cancer and am going through chemotherapy now. I have completed 4 DD AC, and 2 T. One the day of my second Taxol treatment. My white blood cell count is over 9000, still within normal range, but high. My white blood cell count before was in the range of 4000-6000. I am worried if this number is too high. What does you ladies think? What are your white blood cell count on the day of treatment?

    Thanks,

    Michelle

My WBC was usually in the 1500-3000 range on treatment day. It would dip very low after the previous cycle (900 ish) and I'd have to get Neulasta or Neupogen to bring it up for the next cycle.

If your onc wasn't concerned about the WBC being in the 9000 range, then I wouldn't worry about it and just wait and see what it is next cycle. Are you getting Neulasta or Neupogen? If you are, maybe your body just reacted differently to it on the Taxol than it did on the AC and that's why your counts are higher this time.
