Breast-Specific Gamma Imaging

While researching difficult to detect breast cancers, I came across some articles re: Breast-Specific Gamma Imaging (BSGI) and, I was wondering if anyone was diagnosed with ILC after having had this test.  BSGI is a molecular breast imaging technique used for early detection of breast cancer and in the differentiation of malignant and benign tumors.  It relies on advanced gamma imaging technology and mammographic positioning to optimize results.

Thanks.

I asked my onc about BSGI at my last visit. She said at my cancer center they are not using it as first line screening, but rather as another method of imaging if the mammo, u/s or MRI are inconclusive. That being said, I had an inconclusive MRI a few months ago that ended up with a biopsy (benign). I'm not sure why I wasn't sent for a BSGI instead of the biopsy, but my onc doesn't seem to want to include it in my imaging routine (which consists of annual diagnostic mammos and annual MRIs, staggered every six months).

I had the BSGI and warning, lots of insurance companies won't pay for it they call it experimental but the hospital says it is not. It cost me 700 bucks out of my own pocket.
