Today, like every year, I honor my mother's cousin Bobby.

Sgt Robert Simon was killed in a plane crash, returning home from Europe after VE day.

Now that all the cousins are gone, I guess I'm the only one left to honor this fallen soldier.

From my own generation, my next door neighbor Tommy Ruck, and my classmate John Klingen, both Vietnam casualties.

 We don't seem to have "big" wars any more, but it seems important.
