Dandelion, essiac, fish oil capsuls or iodine?

Options

Hi all, just a quick question. Currently I am stage IV breast with mets to the bone. I just went to mayo clinic for 2nd opinion and it did not go very well. They decided to give me my life expectancy which I won't believe. Anyways I have been reading alot about dandelions, essiac, fish oil and iodone. All articles say it significantly helps either stop the spread or reduce tumors and such. Can you all please let me know if you know anything about these and also if you have tried or know anyone who has tried anyone and had luck. here are the articles, I am going to give it all a try so I will let you know.

kristom3-I'm sorry the doctors prognosis is bad, but don't let that discourage you from doing what you can to fight the cancer. Quite a few here are taking iodine in some form. The name brand is iodoral. There is also another good promising product called I3C. It is also in a stronger form called DIM, but that contains some soy, which I steer clear of. Check it out. I am going to look into the dandelion. I tried some yesterday form the garden. It would be great to be able to eat it out of the garden. Probably have to eat a lb.

So sorry to hear about your dx.  Cancer sucks big time!!!  I will tell you all I know about the above mentioned herbs/supplements. Dandelion is chock full of nutrients.  The root particularly is/has been used as a potassium sparing diuretic and is beneficial to the liver.  Essiac (the one with Rene's face on the box NOT Floressence) has 4 herbs and is the original recipe.  My husband and I used to use it as a general cleanser years ago.  The burdock prevents iron absorption so just keep that in mind if you choose to use it.  Do not confuse the two as Floressence contains red clover which is a phytoestrogen that may prove to be detrimental to BC if you are ER pos.  Fish oil is always good just try to get a good brand that is clean of heavy metals.

Iodine is getting good reviews and with people cutting back on their salt intake probably aren't getting enough.  I lost my taste for seaweed during chemo.

Don't let them get you down.  There are many many stage iv women who are going strong.

    All my best to you

    jan
