Itching breast, going for MRI

Hi all!  I have a few questions...Here's some back story...In early 2007 I had a mass found on ultrasound, which was biposied and found to be benign.  As they explained to me it was like a bruise and would eventually disappear.  Since then the same breast has grown significantly and in the past few months has started itching, horribly at times.  The itching does come and go, and is in the area of the mass and the nipple.  Some days I have to put cortisone cream on several times, other days not at all.

I was offered MRI or to have the lump removed.  I opted to go for MRI first and then decide on the surgery after.  I have an MRI scheduled for Tuesday.  Here are my questions...

First, will MRI show IBC?

Should I just have the mass removed regardless of what it is?

Do you think the marker clip placed from the biopsy could be causing some sort of allergic reaction, has anyone heard fo that sort of thing?

If itching was a symptom of IBC would it come and go, or be consistent?

Sorry, I think that's all I have for now.  TIA!

I would have the MRI first to see what is going on.  Then see a breast surgeon for a skin biopsy of the area that is really the only way to either confirm or rule it out.  If it is confirm to be IBC the protocol is to have chemo first followed by surgery. If it comes back b9 then I would have the mass removed. Once you know the dx a treatment plan can be mad.   With IBC everyone has different symptoms.  I myself had none of the symptoms that are listed for IBC.

I have never hear of it but it could be a possibility that you could be having an allergic reaction to the maker clip.

Regarding the itching I'm not sure about that one.  I know that others will reply to your question with even more information.

    Please keep us posted.
