Amy Mickelson
I was saddened by the news that Phil Mickeson's wife Amy has been diagnosed with breast cancer. They are such active/philanthropic people when it comes to education and teachers....I hope they use their celebrity to raise awareness for breast cancer.
They are truly a class act.....

Alo, thanks for posting something about Amy Mickelson. I too am very sad-- what a beautiful lady she is and as you said, a class act. Our whole family is praying for them-- Phil is my 80-yr-old dad's favorite golfer. I do hope the cancer is early stage and is very treatable-- I haven't seen any stats pertaining to that yet, have you?
I wish the Mickelson family all the best and will keep them in my prayers!

No stats are out yet. I read an article saying she is to undergo surgery within the next 2 weeks. she will get through this!

It's terrible news. Blogger PJ Hamel posted a moving piece on Amy Mickelson that also celebrates the five plus year survivorship of Bret Favre's wife: http://www.healthcentral.com/breast-cancer/c/78/71741/wife-diagnosed

I saw this on USA news website in the article about the US Open this week.
During the first week of July, Amy Mickelson is likely to have what her husband has described as major surgery. Phil Mickelson says he will skip next month's British Open, the next major championship of the year, so he can be with her.
Another article on another site said that for the practice round there were quite a few spectators wearing pink shirts and ribbons and shouted to Phil that they are praying for Amy.
Also the wives helped plan a 'pink-out' at the tournament the end of May. In watching that week's players, all had pink ribbons on their hats or shirts. Last week at the St Jude's tourn. children from St Judes were there with t-shirts that said Amy we love you.
Amy we are here for you.
