I was having some bleeding so had an endo biopsy - normal, and a sono-hyst - showed a huge fibroid taking up most of the inside of the uterus. So, on Monday I had a hysteroscopy with removal of the fibroid. Woke up feeling a little stuffy but didn't think much of it. WELL, now I know why they say not to have surgery when you have a cold.

I don't think I ever really woke up from it until 8:00 the next morning. Felt feverish that night, terrible headache. Woke up the next day majorly stuffed up with a wicked sore throat. That was a scheduled day off. Ended out calling in sick for today 'cause I felt so crappy yesterday. Then today woke up with a sticky eye that I can't even keep open now and the other eye is starting to itch! (Got some drops, we'll see if that keeps that eye from getting it and fixes the one that has it.) 10 minute drive each way to the drug store completely wiped me out and I called in at 4:45 sick for tomorrow. I've never, ever done that before (when I had cancer I was working per diem and cancelled the days I knew I'd have to). The receptionist was NOT happy about it having to reschedule another day's worth of patients when there is NO time in my schedule for weeks!

4 cancer related surgeries and nothing like this. Since last fall I've had terrible ear infections, a couple of mild coughs and now this. And I, really, never get sick. 3 years out from tx so I don't blame it on that. I blame the fibroids on tamoxifen (at least I know it's working!) so I could blame it all on cancer.... I think not tho. I think working 4 days a week for 10-12 hours a day when I get paid for 8 is a bit of a stressor. Health care sucks. Luckily, I love love love what I do....

OK, I'll stop now.Wink (put a frown on that one and it's me with my eye shutCry - poor me!Tongue out

Oh, BTW, while I was at the drug store the gyn called - pathology was completely normal!!! YEA!!!!!!!!!!!Laughing

It's amazing how miserable a simple rhinovirus can make you feel.  Get well soon, sweetie.

Just remember - you are absolutely doing the right thing by not going into work.  I get furious at the people who come in sniffling and sneezing and pass it along.  I hope you feel better.

Thanks all. Thanks ADK - that's how I feel about it. There's also no way I could do my job like this. But I still feel guilty...and I know that there will be a stack of charts - no, probably 3 stacks of charts - more than a foot high each that I'll have to deal with when I get there plus a full up schedule of patients all of whom need more than the time they are allotted and me without the balls to push them out. UGH.

But yea, yea, yea on the pathology. I swear, life after cancer is just one relief after the next.
