Test Results (Writing on my mother's behalf)

Sorry Jagmeet.. our discussion is taking turn of an argument like form. You already have too much on your hands and I don't want to add to it .. I was thinking on the lines of your earlier post where it was mentioned - And even that survivor does not lead a normal life -
Sorry and bye...
Take care

Jagmeet so sorry that this discussion became another source of stress. You offered your experience and thoughts regarding treatment. Don't shy away from that. You are your mother's best advocate now and doing everything you can to care for her just as she cared for you all your life. Your posting has given me yet another line to surf while I try to educate myself and await my test results.
Personally I am pulled to the Integrative Medical approach and I am fortunate to live near a major urban area with a very respected Cancer center that includes an Integrative treatment staff if one so chooses.
I pray my results come back B9, but if they don't I have started a learning curve and you have been a part of it. Thank you.

How is your mother doing Jasmeet? Sending some prayers and good thoughts for her..

Hey all.
My mom just had her last (6th) chemo session last week. She is feeling fine. The doctors said surgery and chemo went fine and her health is ok too :-). She would have to go through some more regular check-ups in coming weeks. Just wanted to know what kind of regular checks are you or your contacts following after chemo, like yearly or monthly.
I hope everybody is doing fine here and thanks again for all the support.
Regards,
Jagmeet Singh Hanspal

My mother expired in May 2016. The cancer had re-surfaced and spread upwards to her neck and lung region in past 1 year or so. Towards the end some reports suggested HER-2 positive so I had asked doctors why could/should we not start administering Herceptin. But in 2015 she had become too weak so doctor did some risk-analysis and administer a variant of Herceptin (from Biocon labs). In retrospect, I am not sure why the recommendations from doctor for Hormonal tests were so delayed in treatment (they got done only during re-occurence) while the doctor's protocol remained focused on surgery and chemo-therapy earlier (don't even have a count of number of PET scans and chemo-sessions now she had to undergo). Now that I read this thread back from top, I see the comments from Eldub (Linda) mentioning HER-2, but we were too stressed following our doctors prescriptions and treatments (and also quite relieved with the 2009 treatment results) and thought she was getting better and going to be fine (she did remain happy and healthy and everything was ok after 2010 until 2015 when BC re-occured with a vengeance) and then lost her.
