Rash has started on the other breast?
Hello all,
You have been so helpful so I have another question.... The same type of rash that is on my right breast has started on the left breast. Just beginnig like the other one did. Can you have IBC in both breasts? and also been watching another patch on my calf and that is getting bigger as well. So rash now on both breasts, itches, red, burns like fire and hurts! Breasts also seem swollen and hurt like when your milk comes in to nurse. Has any one else here had this happen and wired that now very similar rash on my right calf? Does this spread or just stay in one spot?
Thanks everyone for your continued support through this horrible ordeal!

Hello it's me again. Hope you will see my post again and be able to reply. I called my doctor again today and said seems like the other breast is starting the same way the right breast rash did. She is still in a fog and has no idea why i have this. So she wants me to come in again 3rd time to have some blood work done and then start on a steriod pack until my appointment next week with the breast Doc. Did anyone of you ever start steriods in your course before they figured it was IBC? I am also very "flu like" this afternoon. My whole upper body, arms, chest, neck and shoulders feel really achy. Feel like the pain in my chest bones is deep and just hurts. Whats your thought? use the steriod or wait till appt next week?
Thanks again! Bobbie

You can try the steroid. It sounds like an infection to me. Have them test for MRSA and anything else they can think of. Have they taken a skin biopsy? Maybe it is yeast infection? I hope you can find out soon. PEace to you. Tami

No, I have not had a biopsy yet. I assume the breast Doctor will do that next week if she feels it's needed. So you think this sounds more infection related? What kind of symptoms did you have when you were diagnosed? reading everything on IBC is so scary and I swear I have a lot of the symptoms... Pray that it's not, just like to get an answert so I can start to feel better.
Thanks!

Bobbie:
Everyone's symptoms are different so it is hard to say what it is. I would however demand a biopsy ibc is very aggressive and the sooner you know what it is the sooner you can start the correct type of treatment. Also ask the surgeon if he/she has every heard of IBC for a lot of docs have never heard of this type of bc.
Keeping my fingers cross that this is an infection and not IBC.
Big Hugs
Laura
