My mother passed from bc, then I was diagnosed at 48 yrs old,(cancer runs strong in my family) Now I am concerned for my 2 girls.(23 and26 yrs old) I know that they need to start screening early but to start mammos at such an early age does not seem safe. I have started looking into thermography as a possability. Sure am going to investigate.

    Auroravtj,

My heart goes out to you for he loss of your mother. I am the first to be dx with BC in my family and when I mentioned this to a BC Nurse she said " Oh no! You do not have a family history. I see people who have 12 or 15 family members with BC. That is considered family history."

That is her opnion and I have mine so I am scheduling my eldest daughter who is 28 for a Breast Therm after I complete mine. One site recommeded the first one should be done by age 20.

    Here is another resource.
