Writing a book - please help:)

Options

To all:

I am writing a fictional book about cancer support group participants. My mom is a Lymphoma survivor and I am hoping to spread awareness about the lifestyle changes that cancer patients and their families undergo during treatment. The book will feature a group of people that begin contact via a support blog, much like the one I am posting on presently.

My intent is to portray different experiences from patients and survivors of all races, religions, ages, treatments and types of cancers. If any of you are willing I would love to get input on what you have gone through. I am specifically looking for stories about how you were diagnosed, what symptoms your type of cancer presents, what symptoms/experiences you have had with certain treatments and what your day-to-day life has been like while on/off treatments. I am also interested in how this has affected your family, relationships, job and any other thoughts you may want to share.

I will keep any stories shared completely anonymous and will not make any reference to the sites that I have received information from or usernames.

Thanks, God bless and good luck!

I was diagonosed with Stage 0 DCIS Ductal Carcinoma in Situ breast cancer in August 2008 after my mammogram In July showed microcalcifications.  I had a stereotactic biopsy, a surgical biopsy, a mastectomy and reconstruction, an underarm lymph node removal and a final reconstruction surgery on April 10 2009.  Whew, it's been a whirlwind.  The unique thing about my story is I was single and had just met a new man at the same time I was diagnosed.  He's still here, what a saint!  I'm trying to get back to 'normal' but it's going to take a while.  This was a tough experience that knocked the wind out of me and that doesn't happen very often.
