Can You Help Me With Forum Abbreviations?

The site for help understanding terms used in these forums may be right in front of me, but I'm not seeing it?  Will someone please direct me to where these abbreviations are explained? 

I have a very dear friend with Stage IV cancer in a very rare form--Inflammatory Breast Cancer.  She is not ready for support from others, but I definitely need not to feel so alone.  Hopefully, this doesn't sound selfish of me.  I just love her so much and feel so helpless.

DS-Dear Son

That's all I can think of off the top of my head.  I'm sure other people will have additional abbreviations to add.

There is a thread that is 'abbreviations for newbies' (I think). I have it as a favorite and try to bump it up every week. I will get it bumped up.
