Need help with flatter breast form options
I had bilateral masts in July 08 and have yet to find anything comfortable..............except going form free, of course! I'm comfortable being flat chested (the natural kind of look) but I'm concave on one side and have lots of excess tissue on the other side. It was okay going form free in the winter since wearing more clothes concealed the humps and bumps and irregularities, but now with warmer weather and less clothes, I feel exposed and don't like the way I look. Right now I'm wearing a Still You cami with the cami part cut off, leaving just the underneath cami bra and I've stuffed the pockets with layers of soft t-shirt style material. Actually the material is really the poofy things that came with the after surgery camisoles minus the polyester filling.
Does anyone have any ideas for a type of flatter foam form thing that might work better than the layers of cotton? Has anyone tried the Bosom Buddies forms with just the fiberfill pillows or the shell with no pillows? I have Amoena 126 forms, but size 6 looks odd because of the excess tissue and size 8 projects too much.

Sher,
Following my bilat in 2006, I have the concave left side and the right side with more tissue, and after going form free for a year and a half, I found PALs in their small size (it would be a 34B or 36A) to be my favorite solution. I wear them with camisoles that have a shelf bra, and I wear them next to my skin, which amazed me by feeling better than anything else. They have a little stickiness, due to the oil in their gel, and so they stay fairly well in place unless I get really active. I wear them 24/7 in a camisole or small sports bra, and just take them off to wash them when I shower and change clothes. (They are not hot for me in summer.) My chest is much happier now, and I feel much less vulnerable than I did with nothing between my ribs and the outside world but a piece of cloth! They are small, however, so I don't feel like I am projecting too much. I would have liked the flat look, if I could have just been flat, instead of concave and uneven. You can see what Pals look like on Barbara's non-profit website BreastFree.org, and also get ideas about a variety of other options. Good luck with your search.

Sher,
I don't know if this is what you're looking for, but it's working for me. I bought a $$$ silicone prosthesis, but I don't wear it. Instead, I use a lightweight fabric "shell" that's filled with loose fiberfill material. The shape of my "foob" is triangular; the back of it is flat and has a gap for adding or removing fiberfill. The front projects as much as I want, depending on how much fiberfill I stuff in it.
I searched far and wide to find more of that type of "foob", only to learn from my BCO sisters here that it's really just the cover for a breast prosthesis, and someone stuffed it with fiberfill. The covers are supposed to be included when you buy a prosthesis, but I didn't get one. That's why I didn't recognize what it was.
My cover is for a size 3 prosthesis, which is pretty much what size I would wear. But, you can buy larger or smaller ones from the companies that sell prostheses. They're really cheap, and the stuffing is infinitely adjustable.
Here's a pic of the back (the side that would be against your chest):

Thanks Dawn and Otter for your help!
Dawn, I checked out Pals, but the only one without nipples would be the Pushup P-10. I read that Pals can be trimmed, can the nipples be trimmed off if I didn't like the look? The Raindrop in size medium is 1 1/2" thick or deep, but that could be hollowed out on the back to make it project even less? I'm afraid to go with anything that has too small a footprint.
Otter, can you let me know where you found your fabric covers and what kind of filling you use? When I got my post surgical camis with the poofy forms, I pulled out the polyester and inserted cotton. After trying silicone and foam forms without much success or comfort, I might go back to this type instead.
I've found a couple foam pad things that might work, but it's kind of hard to decide without actualy seeing them. Nearly Me symmetrical oval foam pads and Nearly Me personal touch inserts which is a replacement for the 140 tapered triangle (not sure what that is?) From what I understand these foam type pads are meant to be worn under a breast form to give more projection but do you think they would create a "natural", almost flat chested look and cover up my humps and bumps? Gosh, what a great way to have to describe my chest!

Sher, I "bumped" the thread where I asked about triangular fiberfill forms. Maybe you can find something you can use in the replies. I sure did.

Thanks Otter..............I'm off looking

Sher,
I bought the triangular shape Pals in pink, and after enjoying the smallest one, I tried the next size up. I like the footprint of the larger one, but it has more projection than I want and weighs more, so I mostly wear the smaller ones. I actually like the nipple. It looks and feels real, and while I always tried to keep my real nipples form standing out, I really don't mind these at all. Having said that, the second pair I ordered had one with a half-detached nipple. I'm pretty sure you could slice them off if you didn't want them. I have not modified mine, but the ones on Breast Free.org were modified. You can also special order one a half size smaller for, I believe, for $10 more or so, which is not bad at all. Barbara has written about ordering a pair specially made, and it sounded like they were easy to work with at Pals.
I understand these might not be what you are looking for, but as the options go, they are affordable and very resistant to damage!
