Pain in partial mastectomy area

Partial mastectomy 7/2006, chemo/radiation/currently on tamoxifen.  Pain for couple weeks now in right breast, at the chest.  Tumor was ON CHEST WALL, removed after 2nd surgery in 2006.  Pain doesn't seem to be lungs...but is constant...like a muscle pull.

Should I be contacting my oncologist?  I see him in a few weeks.  thank you...juli

    IMHO I would ask your oncologist the next time you see him.  It's not uncommon for the nerve endings to be "jangled" and to react spontaneously from where the tissue was removed. I hope all works well

    Hi Flash,

    I called my oncologist's office late Friday, and the triage nurse said she would call me back Monday a.m., she wasn't even going to ASK the doctor, she wants me to get in...it's not deep enough for scar tissue...I hear ya on nerve endings...not sure why after 3 years of removal of tumor (after 2 surgeries) would cause such extreme pain now.  Anyway...thank you for your reply...hope YOU are doing well.  ~juli
