I lost the string where someone was talking about they had met to liver and hips ect. My question is, How would a person know it has spread if no tests have been done. I am asking this because i have a constant aching pain in hip. Not like arthritis. Nothing showed up on blood tests and PET scan done earlier this year.

I had a PET/CT scan where a possible lesion showed up in my liver.  Then they did an MRI, a regular CT scan (each of which said the same thing) and finally a triple phase CT scan (that was inconclusive).  So, now, they just want to wait and see if it grows or I get more spots.  Wish I knew what to do next!

rdrake0 - I'm curious - why did you have the first PET scan that found the spot on your liver?

How miserable to just wait.  Are they able to go in and biopsy it?

    Stinkin' stuff anyway.

Love your horse!  Is she yours?

I asked my onc for the PET/CT. I haven't felt well in over a year and was wondering if there could be a problem somewhere else, too. Turns out there is! But it is in a difficult place to biopsy.  It's about 2 inches down just across from my heart. Local docs don't know what to do. I am looking for a liver specialist who knows what he/she is doing!  Know anyone like that?  I'll go anywhere...preferably not out of the country, though! :-)

Why did you stop Arimidex?  Are you on anything else now?

I do know that arimidex can give you joint and bone pain, so that could be what is causing the hip pain.  I have wondered, too, how I will know what is arthritis, what is side effects of armidex, and what is cancer spread.  I hate to run into the Cancer Center every time I feel a new pain. I'm 60 years old and expect joints and bones to ache a little, but I'm so paranoid now, wondering if it's spreading!
