Looking for hats in Toronto area?
I have no association with Parkhurst, other than being an occaisonal customer.
I will be losing my hair in the next 3 weeks so have been looking for hats. I went to the Parkhurst factory outlet and picked up about 10 hats. Parkhurst is a company that makes knit products. They have hats, scarves, gloves and lots and lots of sweaters. The hats are in light pastel colours, made of cotton and many fit low on your head. They are being sold for $5-$10 and buy one get one half price.
The factory outlet is on Research Road, near Leaside (just off Eglinton, west of Leslie, east of Laird) It is behind Canadian Tire and in front of Home Depot area. I think the sale ends on Saturday.
I just wanted to share this, and again, I have no association with them. I just wanted to share a good find.

Thanks for the info. So far I have bought mine at the Home Health Care centres in both Mt. Sinai and Princess Margaret Hospital. PMH has a way better selection but some can be pricey.....looks like this might be a better way to go and I live in East York, so I know exactly where it is. Just had to shave all of my hair off last week and am finding out that having a wide selection of choices daily is helpful. All the best to you!!

You better go tomorrow as that is the last day that the factory store is open. I am so glad that I went because I started to lose my hair in chunks today and now have bald spots. I thought it would hold off until the FEC but no luck! Not sure when I will have to shave it.

I used to wear those parkhurst berets maybe 10 years ago! They are fabulous, soft, good quality...I wish I had known about this when I went through chemo. Other than that, I used to go the PMH boutique, but the Bay (or whatever they're called now) or any large department store has tons of great hats. It was winter, so they were heavier hats, but there are lots of great hats out there, and don't forget scarves! Thisisme, you might want to check with other people, but for myself on FEC, I didn't shave my head: I buzz-cut it to about 1/8" long with electric clippers. You don't want to nick your scalp! Good luck! For me, being bald was not so bad, and I loved my short short hair!!!

You could try Big It Up. Flagship store is at King St. W. and Spadina in T.O. They have nothing but hats. I'm pretty sure they have a store in Square One as well.
