Hi everyone!  I have been browsing the board for a few days and have a question.  My friend has a red spot on her breast that has been there for about a month without any change, its ot any larger, the color hasn't changed, no warmth, no orange peel skin, no swelling or anything. She has an appointment toward the end of the week to see the doctor. After reading all the information and all the stories about wrong diagnosis, etc. I am concerned to say the least. My question is....if left undiagnosed who soon would another symptom appear?  I know some of you have been diagnosed with just the redness but if you had not of went to the doctor would some of the other symptoms appeared?  I hope my friend just has a skin irritaion and nothing more, I guess I am just concerned about how long it has taken some of you to be diagnosed and wondered at what point you start developing more symptoms that would help idicate it is IBC as opposed to an infection or something else.

IBC is an extremely aggressive and fast moving form of breast cancer.  Mine accelerated in severity within months.  By the time I noticed something unusual to full blown rash and introverted nipple was approximately 3 months.  However, there is not one course for IBC to develop since we are all unique.  Mine did not look like any of the online pictures of IBC.  It actually looked like a spider bite.  Everyone will have their own story of how their's developed and how fast.
