ilc recurrence

Hi

I was diagnosed with Left Breast ILC 3.5cm n0 ER+ PR+ HER2- in 2004, I had Zoladex for 2 years and Tamoxifen for 5 years ending Dec 2008, no chemo.   I started having under arm-shoulder pain in Aug, several visits to GP 1 to onc and 2 to surgeon before they found a 2.2cm tumor on axilla scar at ultrasound, I am currently awaiting ct scan and bone scan to establish extent of spread.

They are also not sure if it's in breast tissue or residual lymph tissue (surgeon adamant he removed all lymphs) radiologist thinks its lymph.

Has anyone else had a local reccurrence of ILC in axilla, can anyone reccomend best treatmnent for recurrent ILC local regional or distant.

I am very worried and have given up hope, if anyone out there has some positive ILC reccorence experiences I would love to hear them.

Thanks

Sian, I'm sorry you have to go through this, and I'm sorry I can't give you any help but to say this really sucks, but I'm hoping a bump up the Active Topics page might help.  I'm sure someone will come along soon with some help for you.  Don't give up hope!

    Sian -

Since ILC only occurs in a smaller % of people, it might be better if you post in the recurrence thread.  There you might be more likely to find others with a recurrence of ILC and also just others who understand your feelings of going thru a recurrence, regardless of the type of their original dx.

    Hang in there!
