if you switch oncologists

Should you expect to take the CT scans and PET scans again after 3 months? I am on my second opinion and he has mentioned taking both of these again I had them done in mid January by another oncologist. I had my mastectomy March 3rd. Its 5 weeks after surgery and he wants me to do it again. If I get a 3rd opinion what will happen?

    Lydia,

    If you are going to see another onc make sure that you have copies of all your CT, Pet scan films and reports. The new onc would need to review them and if you needed more x rays he would order them. Md's only order these tests if you have complaints or symptoms.

    Hi Lydia,

    You should start a file and just ask everyone for copies of all your tests and results it is handy to have and by law they are supposed to give it to yu if you ask.
