Hi, I  am hoping someone can help me with this. My mom was diagnosed with IDC in July of 08, stage 2 grade 3. She had a left side mastectomy but chose not to have chemo or radiation. She has had a reoccurance and recently had 2 spots removed at the mastectomy site. There was no breast tissue uinvolved. Prior to surgery she had a PET/CT Scan that showed "activity" in the liver.Several years ago, her primary care Dr. told her she had a fatty tumor on the liver, but we can find no referance to it in her records. That Dr. has since left town and is unavavilable. My question is, Do fatty tumors show activity on PET/CT Scans or is it more lieky a metastisis of the IDC.?? We are awaiting a review of the PET/CT Scan, but it is AWFULLY HARD to wait. I would appreciate any info. Thanks.

    I do not know for certain, but I had a few lesions on my liver that they picked up on my pet scan. They said that it was normal for most people my age and not a metastasis. So I'm thinking that the fatty tumor would show up too. I have your mother in my prayer and thoughts
