My friend with HER2/neu was given options

Options

Since her recent visit with the oncologist, they have recomended two types of treatments.  The first being adding Xeloda to Herceptin treatment.  The second is to change to Tykerb and Xeloda.  If anyone has been on either or both treatments please contact me.  She doesn't want to participate in a blind study; due to the fact of not knowing which meds (if any) she may be given.

Note: this is a breast cancer that has spread into the skin forming lesions on the breasts.

    Dear Tespi,

I am not Her2 positive, but did want to tell you that I think when they do a blind study, the blind treatment is usually the current standard of treatment - that is, one would either get the current accepted best treatment for a particular condition, or a new treatment.  They would never not give a participant no treatment as part of a blind study.
