Do your adrenal glands hurt?

For the last couple of years my adrenal glands have hurt before and after my period.  I was dx's a month ago.  I wonder if that has anything to do with my estrogen fed cancer since adrenals can produce estrogen too?  Anyone else have this occur?  THey hurt in my neck and right behind my lower ribs.  It can sometimes be very uncomforable.   thanx for any input.  Tami

Tami, your adrenal glands sit right on top of your kidneys. They aren't in your neck.  Also, they are very small (about the size of an almond).  What makes you think the intermittent pain is coming from your adrenal glands?  (Could you be thinking of lymph nodes, instead of adrenal glands?)

If you have pain behind your lower ribs, it's more likely to be coming from your kidneys.  And, this has been going on for years???  Have you talked to a doctor about it?

Hi otter- as always you are correct!  thank you for pointing that out.  My neck hurts right where my thyroid is. (after doing a quick anatomy lesson).  THe thyroid and adrenals are connected I am assuming.  Anyway I feel like my whole system is overproducing something, maybe estrogen....THanks for your input.  I never thought to ask a doctor since it is never happening when I am with one of course.  I will bring it up with onc. next week.  Tami
