Anyone with an original DX ER/PR+, local recurrence TN?

8 years ago, I had an original diagnosis of IDC, ER/PR+ Her2-, node negative, treated with lumpectomy, radiation and 5 years Tamoxifen.  Recently a local recurrence (same exact spot) and this new tumor has switched to TN.  So I'm just curious if there are others out there that have had this happen.  How usual/unusual is it for the receptors to change with a local recurrence?

Not exactly your situation, so I don't know if this is helpful or not.  My original biopsy (which was somewhat botched, so there was only one small sample), showed the DCIS was weakly hormone receptor positive (ER 2%, PR 10%).  They said that was unusual for DCIS, and given the small sample, I had it checked at another lab - which got the same result.  Once I had surgery, I asked that they repeat the test on the tissue removed at surgery (that is, from the surgery 6 weeks after the biopsy).  I just got those results, and they came back ER-/PR-, showing 0% receptivity to both.  My doctors were caught by surprise.  The Oncologist said she's never seen the result change like that between a biopsy and surgery (apparently going from neg to positive sometimes happens - probably because of having more tissue to work with at surgery).  No one know if the cancer itself changed or if the first tests were wrong.  (I don't know my Her2 status, as no one wants to test for it since it's "just" DCIS - though the Onc suspects it's Her2 negative, since that apparently is common when DCIS is ER/PR neg, and also because it's high-grade, with necrosis, etc, all of which are signs of a more aggressive growth.)

It does make me wonder if we'll be learning something in the future about how cancer changes over time, though.
