Calcifications on Mammo after treatment ?

Hi everyone,
I just had mammo 1 year after finishing lumpectomy / rads, and after 1 year Tamox . Calcifications were seen, but the recommendation was for repeat mammo 6 mos. Are there other reasons why calcifications could appear in the lumpectomy area ? Should I be concerned about this in terms of a recurrence ??
