Hey Momof4, just saw this thread!

I went to say goodbye on Feb 18 before I left but you were conked out--didn't want to wake you....

How are you doing?! I've just started rads this week--3 down, 32 to go!

Hey Martha, I am doing well. My mom said you came by I am sorry I missed you. Yes, that benadryl makes me crash. How are the rads going for you?? I am not getting rads. I was shocked fully expected to get them. Guess we are the only 2 from the area ehhh?? Hey are you doing the CIBC walk for a cure in Oct?? I started a team up if you want to join. :)

Rads are going OK--hate the early morning bit, but it's what works best for me and my work schedule.

I'm guessing you're not doing rads because you're node negative?

I don't know if I'll do the walk or not...have to see how the summer goes.

I know there must be others from the area...aren't there? lol

IT was suggested I not do rads because the risks were greater then the benifits. I am node negative. My tumor was less then 5cms, I had clear margins because of the mastectomy, my tumor was more then 2cms from my chest wall, my tumor was more then 5mms away from my skin, & my tumor was non vascular.

He said there was a risk of lung & heart damage as well as a rare but still risk of the rads causing a new chemo. He felt I had too many things against doing rads for the risks. I wanted rads asked him what he would say if I really fought for it. He said I might give in but on the other hand if I really think about it I might have to put my foot down & say no the risks are just not worth itfor you. So after I talked with some other survivors & my sis who is an RN I took his advice & skipped the rads.

As for the walk if you decide to do it.... I would love to have you on my team. :)

Hi Tina, nice to see another local gal. Not that it is nice you are in the club. I would love to do a coffee night some time. Do you know of any others from the area??

    Hi Ladies,

I'm from the Windsor area.   I was dx 6 years ago and so far so good.   I'm not on the boards much anymore but do check in from time to time to check up with some old and new friends.
