Anyone get a s 2nd ( and different) cancer?

Options

HI All,

I wasn't sure where to post this but I AM depressed, angry and anxious so this seemed to be the appropriate post. Finished Rads on my sons' birthday so we had a real celebration. Went for my overdue pap last month only to receive the "dreaded phone call". I go in for a colposcopy on Wednesday with a possible biopsy. Has anyone else had a 2nd cancer, and if so, was it related to the original breast cancer? What kind of treatment did you have?. I know I'm asking before I have any information about my situation, but I want to be prepared. At this point I kind of want them to knock me out and just take out everything that I don't need. Glad I didn't get off the anti-anxiety meds!

Unfortuantly.....just becuse a woman has HAD breast cancer at sometime in here life, it doesn't exclude her from "other" cancers as well.

Thats why prevention is key. This second cancer, more than likely is NOt related to your BC diagnosis. Hang in there!

It may just be nothing to worry about!

I'm 39 and 2 years ago I had severe cervical dysplasia.  I had a colposcopy, a LEEP & a D&C.  I had a left breast lump since '06 right after my son was born in late '05.  But I'd let it go, because of preconcern with the cervical stuff.  In '08 GYN felt lump and sent me to a surgeon. I had LCIS, complex sclerosing lesion (radial scar) intraductal hyperplasia and sclerosing adenosis.  (Tho ultras. said no mass).  Then I had a lumpectomy in Rt.  And now I have more lumps in right which I've seen 6 Dr.s on, 2 ONC's and a surgeon recommending Mastectomy.  But NOONE WILL BIOPSY.  One surgeon said sometimes those issues can be associated, but not likely.  Good Luck.

My sister, has stage 3a breast cancer with 9 nodes infected, had a mastectomy on 1 breast and while doing her scans to see if it went to her major organs they found a tumor in her abd area. Shortly after the biopsy the tumor burst and she needed emergency surgery. They took out her gob ladder and parts of her small intestine. It turned out to be Leiomyo Sarcoma, a rear and aggressive cancer. Once again they are hoping they got it all and she needs another chemo for this cancer. They still say she can beat this and we are hoping and praying but I am scared for her. She is only 46 and had been through so much in the past 3 months, she is so upset and so worried as her family is also.

Pugmom - So sorry that you may have to go through this again.

I agree...I want all my unnecessary parts taken out this summer.  I know it won't help that much, but it'll be just that less I have to worry about.

Have you checked out the home page for "second cancers"?  They may have info.  I know there's a forum on second cancers here, but let's hope you won't need it.
