Please help, I had a breast reduction 15 months ago and a biopsy which all came back normal. My breasts are now small and pert compared to how big, flat and saggy they were.

Two days ago I found a tiny, pea sized lump above my left nipple which feels squishy so I went to my GP immediately and he felt it. He said it felt like a cyst and he found two more on my right breast on the side and has since referred me for a mammograme.

I don't understand how this has happened when everything was clear not so long ago via a biopsy. Am very worried as doctors always tell you it's just a cyst so i didn't take it seriously.

Can these breast cancers grow that quick.....?

Most breast cancers have been in the body for some 6-10 years before they can be detected by ANY means.

Is it POSSIBLE for breast cancers to grow that quick?  Yes, it is possible.  Many, many improbable things are possible.  It is possible that the sun will not rise tomorrow, although your chances of having breast cancer are higher than that.

All breast imaging CAN miss breast cancers.  But fibroadenomas (which are benign growths) can also grow very fast - faster than the vast majority of breast cancers.

Get it checked out.  They have not yet recommended breast biopsy.  Know that overall, for the entire population in the US, about 80% of breast biopsies are benign.

So chances are high that this is something benign. But get it checked out to make sure.
