Besides, my motive is that I'm taking the last 2 weeks of April as holidays and I do NOT want to spend it cleaning!!
-
Good Idea Barbe! Especially linking our bunny hutch with the Easter holiday. I do love hiding little chocs on behalf of the |Easter bunny for the kiddos to find..he usually leaves a note as well. I wonder if this is the year my dd with twig.. but a sen older brother it does keep things quite inocent around here.. no one to spoil it for her. Fabulous, lucky me, makes my mummy job alot more fun!
xx hugs to all bunnies. ps: Haven't heard from Faith so I fear I may have missed her. Probably had a tiny tiny layover. I spent the afternoon at the park with the kids as DH painted the guest bedroom in readiness for his parent's overnight stay tomorrow. Now just the whole rest of the house needing doing!! looking forward to doing absolutely nothing for the rest of the night.
xx Shiny

Shiny, on TV shows, the paint over there looks so thick and gloppy. Here it is like milk. Is it really like curdled cream (nice words for milk gone bad) over there?
-
SHINY!!!!!!!!!!! I never put 2 + 2 together until the time was at hand.
Hubby made all of the arrangements & I had no idea we would be popping in on London -- both coming & going.
It sounds like you've got your hands FULL for tomorrow/Monday with the inlaws.
We have HUGE layovers on the way over -- seriously, an 8 hour here in Chicago, now nearly spent, and a 5 hour in London tomorrow. We are to arrive right around 7:00 a.m. and take off shortly after the noon hour on your Monday timetable.
Flying home we don't have quite the lapse of time.... but on Tues April 26th we arrive London at 8:00 and load the plane at 11:00. Such a small window of opportunity.
I know that's a school day for your delightful bunny juniors.
We are flying on "free" tickets from accumlulated 'points' and I think this must have been the least efficient route that they could create for us. LOL.
I will write your numbers down, but I've also just learned that our cell phones don't have European coverage. I guess we're gonna get a disposable phone?? (He doesn't like for me to worry my pretty little head about the details.) LOL
This adventure is our first European trip together. I already eluded to our "team-work" so this will be interesting at the very least. I have my happy pills in my purse for the 'joy' of our communication, the foreign languages ahead, the unknown routes................
Feel free to keep us in your prayers, my bunny hutch.

Faith, when I'm in those tense communication situations I tell my DH that we are having an "adventure"! Then if something goes wrong, heck, no big deal. In Turkey they speak German as a second language and I knew some of it and confidently ordered my poached egg "immen vassa" (sp?) 'in water'. I got a hard boiled egg!! hehehehehehehhehe just an adventure! When they brought the coffee my DH said "Oh! Turkish coffee?" They said "no, Nes-coffee!" ehheheheheheh it's all just an adventure.....sigh.
-
Faith! If I can make it happen, I could get to Heathrow that morning. It would mainly depend on my husband being here as oposed to out of town or abroad, so that he could take the kiddywinks to school; That day is their first day back after the Easter break.
Do you think you can call or email to indicate if you get on your frlght on time from your departure point, so that I know 1- if your layover is going to be 3 hours or 10 minutes (as you know, flights don't always depart on time!) and 2- if you are allowed "out" of the "in transit zone" so that we are allowed to meet3- which terminal, your phone number and where to meet.?
As long as my kiddos are healthy and off to school and.. dh is in a position to do school run, I could get there. See how you are and what the itinerary is closer to the date and email/call me?
xx to all. got to get to the last of the inlaws prep, they will be here in a couple of hours and they live away, so this is a rare visit.

I can't believe we might actually have a Shiny sighting in real life!! Woo hoo! If anyone can do it, Faith can!!! Come on Universe, give us a hand!
-
WE ARE IN SWITZERLAND!!!!
Shiny. That would be so awesome. We flew thru Terminal 5 on the way out of London. Of course we would be on the other side of security????????????????????
How on earth could we make it work?
I would be a loonie-peach, concerned about you making so many adjustments to your day, for what might amount to perhaps an hour's hug -- best case scenerio.
We have yet to purchase the disposable phones.
I would love to hug you in person!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Ok I was working 2 part time jobs until I went to full time and had a bad fall on some ice. It got really adventurous...I was in too much pain for bed or chair and I walk at my job so I went there...until I decided I must be getting lazier or mored depressed...pounding headaches and getting dizzier and dizzier...if it wasnt for fast food I wouldnt have eaten anything. So I was beyond lazy...I got the call saying go to ER NOW you need to get blood transfusions. At that point I had to hang onto the walls and furniture to do anything. 5 days later I felt better and it is 10 days and iron infusions and after 4 weeks I did 10 loads of laundry...where did all this stuff come from and finally found my kitchen sink today. I just try to do a little bit of something everyday...it will be there and it is not running away. The dust bunnies are taking over but they havent asked for food money or car keys so they can hang out. No one understands why I sleep so much - yeah let them go through this and we might never hear from them! I am off to bed...the melon I have to cut will be there tomorrow too!
-
Sweet dreams anumacha. Hope the fairies come and do your housework for you whilst you are dreaming, what a lovely dream that is. Take care and sleep and rest and let them pesky but undemanding dust bunnies wait. We understand.
Faith, terminal 5 is the best terminal from here. Let me know closser to the time. I don't think I have the nerve to drive the motor way..so would have to find bus or train, but that is totally doable. cross fingers. I should know by the weekend before if I will be able to go (kid's cover). We are back from Rhodes on the Saturday, so will check my messages emails pm on my return. You could pm or email me a tel number and I could try to ring you on Sunday or Monday, then we would know where we stand either way. My hub thinks you should be able to cross security , but he often travels within the EU, so you would have to check with your travel provider as your onward journey is USA.
Hope your trip is delightful from begining to end!
xx bunnies

Packing and then off to get to the airport for tomorrow mornings silly early flight to the greek sunshine. Will be thinking of you, my dust bunny friends. Not feeling very clever, probably the anemia making me more dippy then normal.
I hope that your housework is light, the fun is plentiful and the pain is nowhere to be found!
I will check back in on my return. Be good to yourselves, have a lovely Easter.

Shiny, have a wonderfully brilliant time with your family. Rest and rejuvinate. You'll need lots of energy to attend the Royal Wedding.
Happy Day Dusty Buns

Just a quick note to let you know I'm still breathing! Moved into my new place and last Tuesday morning fell (the path was clear - I don't know what I fell over) and bumped my head. I got very dizzy and called my sister who picked me up and drove me to Loudoun Hospital. I have a goose egg on my hen that as it resolves is causing my eye to become black and blue (and purple and green).
My insurance until I get on Medicare is really awful - with a $10,000 deductible. I now owe about $20,000 give or take a few thousand and they don't know what's wrong with me! They discharged me yesterday and I am going home today (stayed at my sister's house last night).
That's all to report - if I didn't have bad luck I'd have no luck at all. At any rate, I leave it in God's hands. Love to all the bun-buns.
-
Kathleen!! Every time we don't hear from you for a while, something happens. I'm sorry, but I'm going to have to ask you to checkin EVERY DAY so we know you're okay!!!! I hope you didn't hurt the shoulder you had so much work done on last year
-
((((((((((((((((Kathleen))))))))))))))))) I was worried that something had happened!!!!! My goodness girl, what are we going to do with you??? That could have been alot worse than an egg on your noggin. Do you have a walker? Maybe you should just depend on one whenever you walk. It would at least hold you up, or make you slow down so you don't fall. Pooooopoooooo........and just getting in your new place and all.........what a nice housewarming gift, huh? I agree with Barbe. I think you should check in at least once a day to keep us posted. (((((big hugs))))
Really REALLY interested if Shiny and Faith will be able to meet in REAL LIFE!!!! Wouldn't that be something????!!!!! I would just love to be a fly on the wall, or security watching everything on tape:) hehehe..........hugs, laughs, smiles, hands and arms flying.......tears maybe....awwwhhh so neat!! I hope it works out for you bunnies!!!
Hope you all have a wondermous weekend!!!!!
I'm getting really excited about the royal wedding. I still haven't picked out my dress, but I hope to find one today:):)
Much love to all you bunnies!!!!!
-
I was just reading back to catch up and saw Sharon's post about cleaning and loving Pine Sol.
Sharon knows I love Pine Sol too and told me once I should dab a little behind my ears.......LOLOLOL. I have laughed about that everytime I see or hear Pine Sol.
-
Oh my, I hope everyone is OK, the silence is disarming, just a day and half before the biggest bunny holiday. I hope everyone is just preoccupied with travel or playing with kids, etc. Hugs, warm spring sunshine, chocolate and the grace and hope that is truly Easter to all.
-
LOL The pinesol scent reminds me of my mother and my youth that is why I still buy it as well.
Kathleen I agree with the rest of the bunnies try to check in more often and pls take care no more spills pls.
Hugs and painfree vibes go out to Barbe.
Hope the easter bunny brought all the dust bunnies dark chocolate.
-
Just hopping through to wish everyone the brightest of Easters.
We have been showered with so much chocolate.
It seems that each of our hostess' have given us our very own Easter basket of European chocolates...... seriously, so much chocolate that we have begun giving boxes to various nice folks along our journey. LOL. Left a box with our hotel owners back in Venice last weekend, because they were so particularly dear to us.
We still have one little golden bunny for tomorrow.
I'm going to cut & paste the story of what unfolded today. I posted it on the beach thread, but in case you don't frequent those shores -- this is just toooooooo amazing not to share with all of you wonder bunnies:
Just had THE most amazing serendipitous 'thing' happen. We have arrived rather 'accidently' in Verona, Italy. (Somehow yesterday, we realized we didn't have a hotel booked for tonight -- Easter Saturday, and DH scrambled around to find a room available that we could afford at this last minute's notice.)
Anyhow, we somehow landed in Verona.
We were mucking about downtown, me maxing out my camera memory card again..... when we finally figured out our way to the ancient Roman Colloseum. We decided to go ahead and pay to enter and climb the interior walls.
We get to the top of the vista below -- of the town square -- and I'm just beginning to take some pictures -- when we hear a muffled Italian announcement over speakers in the square below. Up rolls the first of many, many, many US WWII ARMY vehicles: of every sort & description. Led by a couple of relic tanks, then jeeps, trucks, motorcycles -- many with sidecars, amphibious trucks, half-ton, Red Cross evacuation vehicles.
Anyhow. It would seem that we have stumbled into the annual day of celebration & re-enactment of the United States 'liberation' of Verona during WWII.
I took another 100 pictures of the unfolding, unbelievable 'parade'...... as the vehicles passed us below, they then began 'massing at the corner of the square.'
Ultimately we went down and mingled. Found an Italian woman who could speak English and she spoke long and eloquantly of the day and what it 'still' means to them. They were old. Her husband was dressed in US military uniform. Actually it seemed that ALL of those dressed as US soldiers were actually Italians.
The US flag was flying from the vast majority of the trucks and jeeps and motorcycles.
I shake my head in amazement -- that I am in Italy on contract with the US Army and we literally stumble into this day, completely unaware that it was about to unfold.
Pictures to follow...................

Just stopping in to see what's up. Haven't been in here in awhile. Everyone have a happy Easter.
dust bunnies unite.

Happy Easter all bunnies!
Got back from our Greek hol last night. Lymphedema flaired whooped, happy to see our cats. we ad a lovely time despite the fact that we had a heatwave here in my county and so, it was 5 degrees hotter at home then in our greek island! Met some ;lovely people made friends had bril Greek food, days by the beach. ahhh.
Thinking of you all and sending my bestest peachy vibes to you all. Hi Flash!! Hope you are well.
Faith thanks for sharing your story..that must have been quite special to witness. It doesn't look likely we will be able to meet from what I gather! so close and yet so far!! as you are only in transit through Heathrow, and to a final destination outside of the EU, I don't think they would let you out. Sounds like you hae been having a awsome time. Perhaps we can plan better on your NEXT Europeen tour, which, with a bit of luck will include Southern England!! And you could do Wales as well!!
It would be great to all meet up one day. Got to stop typing my lymphedema is on my "dominant arm and I must rest it" it is protesting.

Shiny. We are packing to depart Milan and head to Zurich. As you know we fly out in the morning. I too think it best that we not attempt to make this work. Your health is too precious to work so hard at the outside best that we would have a couple of minutes ....... even if I could get back and forth thru security.
They are already talking about next time...... so I will plan better and have a proper layover in London where we can connect for real.
I am sad that we will not make it this trip, but have something to look forward to.
I have begun posting pictures of our trip thru the Alps and our weekend in Venice to my blog
www.rainbowswithinreach.blogspot.com
I think you all will enjoy a little European holiday with me.

Safe travels Faith! Looking forward to your next journey with uk dates!!
Kids back to school tomorrow for 3 days then 4 days off for bank holiday and Royal Wedding of course. What with his 2 swimming lessons in school time, my ds can't quite beleive the spareseness of "school /work time" on his schedule for this week. Well.. bunnies, have actually spent most of this glorous sunny day in the "spare room" trying to "find homes" for so many things..and fantasizing about having a little helper to help me conquer all my "home based to -dos"! Didn't get discouraged, that would be silly, enjoyed 2 meals outside with the family inbetween the sorting. Life is good.
Kathleen!! hugs, gentle hugs.. try to stay put and out of hospital won't you. Bless you. Hang in there.
Arnie, hope your dd is gaining strenght and hope with every improvement.
Hope you are having a lovely day. Must get back to school prep.

Hi all.
I have just connected with Faith, although it had to be on the phone( she was in a short transit stay-the otherside of security on her way back home at Heathrow), so she did feel closer somehow. Sounds like she has had an amazing time and taken plenty of pictures which I am sure will inspire her to make a new book, or write some new songs!
It was short but sweet to hear her joyful voice, and am so glad she was able to call. I am now hoping she will be back for another tour which will include dates in England so that we can properly connect. Thank you for calling Faith!!.
Kids back in school this am, so now must get my car into garage for it's overdue service. Thankfully DH is here unexpectedly, so he can take me back home.
Have a lovely day.. oh and by the way, if anyone needs a "reason" to chill next weekend..use the Royal wedding to force a chores free celebration weekend.
xx Shiny
-
Faith, that was sweet to see the "big" soldiers looking at the picture books so intently.....hehehehhehee I LOVE seeing "behind the scenes" of life of the army over there. Looks so normal really. And you and DH must be standing on a bridge, and not in a gondola...right?
Must be positively surreal to see places that you've seen so many times in movies....
-
Bunnies!!!!!
It was such a glorious treat to hear Mr. Shiny's voice and then Shiny herself!!! My silly laptop was on it's final melt-down of battery expenditure -- so we talked as fast as two can go......
With all the "bits & bobs" we could tweek in.
I missed the hugging, but it was fun to connect in real-time London-proper.
Barbe. I am so appreciative of your comment about the 'big' soldiers. I was so distraught that day, because my camera batteries were kapoot & I hardly have any pictures. The two I posted to the blog of the guys in uniform helping are not especially clear & so I was lamenting not having better documentation of that special day.
But you are spot on accurate in your assessment!!!! The grown adult men are indeed themsleves intrigued with my illustrations! I hadn't thought of it that way, until you mentioned it.
Thanks for giving me a better perspective.
Staying ahead of the technology, between the various countries was a continual challenge..... having transformers and plug converters yada yada.......
****And you are correct. We are standing atop the bridge in Venice.
On the flight back I watched the newish movie with Angelina & Johnny Depp that was shot in Venice. The whole entire time, I kept saying, "I saw that and that and that and that and I took a picture of that exact porch!! and that's where we saw this and that's where we did that!!!!"
Wish I had watched it on the flight in, too! We watched "King's Speech" on the flight over.
It was such a perfect revisit. I must give British Airways a two thumb's up. Everything was top drawer --- even back at the back of the bus, on the freebie tickets. LOL.

Awwwhhhhh it's so nice to hear of bunnies chatting on the phone. I would have loved to be a bunny on the wall to listen in
Faith!! It sounds like your trip was just wondermous!! I hope it was all plus more than you ever dreamed. DD said to me............"Reggio"?????? Awwwwesome!!!!!! "Mom, that's like THE place for Early Childhood Educators"!!!! It's so neat you got to go and the first of many more trips!!
Hope everyone is having a wondermous weekend!!
Mum---is this the month of the wedding?? For some reason, I was thinking it is.
Sure hope Kathleen is doing better. Has anyone heard from her?
Arniebelle!!! Hope DD is healing and feeling better!!!
Sending big hugs to all you bunnies!! We may have to give Sharon a "puppy shower" soon........LOL. There's a "puppy watch" going on in her neck of the woods:)
Barbe! How are you feeling?? I read that you're having some tests, etc. Hope everything turns out ok for you. Breast cancer is just the gift that keeps on giving.............I hate it!! Sending you hugs and prayers!!
Shinygirl, sure hope your holiday was wondermously brilllllll and you all had a great time! Hope you're keeping the pain level down.
So good to see Flash come flashing through
Still miss EWB (Elaine). REALLY hope she's doing ok....and all you other bunnies that pass through sometimes!
I loved watching the Royal Wedding yesterday and seeing all the hats. I didn't see one of these though...
-
Wishing all you bunnies a Happy Mother's Day!!!!
Whether you're a mom to humans or furbabies............I hope you have a wondermously brilllll day!!
