    Hello TJ:

Has your friend gone to a different cancer treatment facility for a second opinion?  Second opinions are very important.  Has your friend spoken to others that have had the same diagnosis and treatment?

    Hello Navalex,

Thank you  Navalex. I think she has gone several hospitals to seek treatment.  Since she does not read English, she asked me to seek information from the wider communities.

    Best wishes,

    TJ

TJ - If I am reading your post correctly, your friend's tumor is the same as mine - ER- PR- Her2+. Many of the women on this board with this diagnosis receive Taxotere (I got Taxol), Carboplatin, and Herceptin, then Herceptin for a year. This seems to be the most common treatment today, especially on the West Coast. I don't know how large her tumor was, if she has had surgery yet. or if any lymph nodes are involved, but I do know that Herceptin has changed the statistics dramatically for those of us with Her2+ tumors. And if Herceptin isn't effective, other drugs such as Tykerb can be used to treat the Her2+ cancer.

Best wishes to you and your friend. Let us know her treatment and how she is doing.

    Sue
